The pandemic has impacted many aspects of our lives and taken a toll on our mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing. Through this three-part series, guest speakers will talk about the challenges of sadness, grief, depression and feeling emotionally exhausted.
- March 9: “I’m Doing Ok, But Why Do I Feel So Sad?” by Rabbi Lynn Liberman, BCC and Tara Burns, MA
The ongoing pandemic is a journey filled with feelings of loss and hesitancy, and a sense of strangeness in once-familiar places. These are signs of grief. We will talk about the challenges that grief places on us as we strive to stay healthy and connected with others. - March 16: “I Am My Brother/Sister’s Keeper: How to Recognize Depression, and Help Ourselves and Others” by Michael Borowiak, MSW, LICSW with Traverse Counseling and Consulting
We will discuss the difference between depression and sadness, how depression presents itself at all stages of life, how to help yourself and when to seek professional help. - March 23: “Self-Care and Recharge” by Tara Giese, MSW, LISW with Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota
Discover practical ways to recharge yourself and build resilience. We will talk about how to care for ourselves, and the importance of incorporating self-care into our daily lives.
